Ryan X-13 ‘Vertijet’ / 1955

An ambitious program saw the development of the Ryan X-13, a tailsitter jet, with vectored thrust capability, requiring a vertical-take-off off and pitch into level flight. Despite successful trials the lack of operational requirements ended the programme.
