Lockheed M-21 Blackbird / 1963

The iconic ‘Blackbird’, the fastest air-breathing production aircraft of all time was modified for a CIA intelligence gathering program with the addition of a remote piloted, unmanned ‘D-21’ drone sitting atop the craft. An incredible achievement with the technology of the day, only two variants were produced, with one lost in a  launch accident.
