Ferranti Atlas / Giclee Print - 30 x 40"
docubyte
Ferranti Altlas / 1964 The engineer’s console of the Atlas 1 computer at Rutherford Appleton Laboratory. Built by Ferranti Ltd in Manchester and designed by Tom Kilburn at the University, only three Atlas 1 computers were ever constructed, but at £3M each that was hardly surprising. When it was switched on in October 1964, this was the biggest, fastest, most powerful, general-purpose commercial super-computer in the world, doubling Britain’s computer power overnight.
