Convair XFY-1 ‘Pogo’ / 1954

Built as a VTOL tailsitter, the XFY-1 program conceived that the craft would deploy and land from ships, acting as a scout and interceptor. Despite a workable concept the Pogo proved so tricky to land except for all the most experienced pilots that eventually the project drew to a close.
