British Aircraft Corporation TSR-2 / 1964

Seemingly the most controversial of all British aircraft, the emotive subject of TSR-2 and its expected potential in light of its cancellation will keep message boards and forums alive for centuries. The ambitious ‘Tactical Strike and Reconnaissance’ capabilities of the aircraft design, replete with technology ahead of its years, fated an established legacy of government shortsightedness, symbolising the decline of the British aviation industry. Two airframes remain today, XR219 and XR222.
